Since our beginning in 1974, the vision of University of Houston-Clear Lake has been to create opportunities for student success, academic excellence and community advancement. As an upper-level (junior and senior) undergraduate and graduate university, UHCL provides extensive class offerings and programs to a diverse, adult student population. The Schools of Business, Education, Human Sciences and Humanities, and Science and Computer Engineering offer courses leading to bachelor’s degrees in more than 30 fields of study, master’s degrees in over 40 fields of study and a doctoral degree.

A partnership-oriented, community-minded institution, UHCL garnered national recognition in 2008 when The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching selected UHCL for its Community Engagement Classification. This distinction recognizes our curricular engagement, outreach and partnerships throughout Bay Area Houston.
